Welcome to the 2010-2011 school-year! We are very excited about having your student with us at Ivy High School. It is our goal to provide your child with the best possible opportunity to earn credits and a high school diploma. There is no reason for any child to fail at Ivy High School. Ivy High is dedicated to providing its students with the best educational foundation possible. We want our students to be successful far beyond high school, so our curriculum is designed with that in mind. Instruction is designed to support our students’ attainment of the California State Standards, as well as support the development of the whole child. Instructional time is very important to the success of your child’s academic performance. Students are expected to attend every day, on time for each class and arrive to class prepared. Many supports are in place to help meet the needs of each student, including CAHSEE tutoring, after-school activities, and on-line courses. The staff of Ivy High School cares about students. This care extends from academics to personal well being, and to overall student achievement. During the past several years, we have made important strides in providing the best service we can to students who are behind on credits. In order for success to occur, students must attend school regularly.

On Wednesday, September 22, 2010, Ivy High will host “Back to School Night”. This evening will start with a welcome in our library at 6:30pm. Classroom visitations are from 7:00 to 8:00. The goal of this evening is to have parents meet their child’s teachers, learn classroom expectations and course requirements, as well as establish effective communication systems with your child’s teacher to support your child’s success.
